The Virginia Symphony Society
The Virginia Symphony Society (VSS) is a proud supporter of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, one of Virginia’s top cultural institutions. Directed by internationally acclaimed director, JoAnn Falletta, the Virginia Symphony Orchestra has distinguished itself across the country and was recently elevated to national status upon being admitted to the International Conference of Symphony and Opera Musicians.
The VSS is dedicated to enhancing the rich cultural life of Greater Williamsburg, Hampton Roads and beyond through support of this wonderful orchestra. VSS members are active in attending concerts, assisting with regional outreach activities, fundraising, pre-concert dinners, receptions and special events.
The VSS provides significant support to bring the VSO’s SOAR program to the Williamsburg area. This allows VSO musicians to hold inservice sessions for Williamsburg teachers as well as student workshops in our elementary, middle, and high schools – inspiring hundreds of music students each year. Together, all of these activities work toward our goal of promoting music across generations.
